COVID-19 Safety Protocols
COVID-19 is now an inherent risk in all aspects of life, including tours and travel. Getting back to the activities that are important to us, even just going to the grocery store, entails mitigating that risk. Fortunately, there are clear and tested actions we can take to enhance our own and others' safety.
To participate on our tours, guests will need to either provide proof of adequate vaccination against COVID-19 or provide a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of departure. We highly encourage even vaccinated travelers to also get a PCR test for increased group safety. You may find a PCR testing location near you using the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services' website. We reserve the right to relax these requirements if the pandemic eases, or tighten the requirements if we deem it necessary to make it safer. Under no circumstances would we change requirements without time for our guests to prepare. Please refer to our Booking Agreement for further details.
Maintaining high levels of health and sanitation on our tours is very important to us and requires everyone’s participation. We reserve the right to alter the itinerary at any time to maintain safety or if any location is too crowded to allow proper physical distancing.
Behind the scenes, our approach is focused on six priorities: Screen, Prevent, Train, Monitor, Adjust and Support. Much of our work in these areas will be invisible to you, as it happens long before you join our tour.
What will be more obvious to you are the measures that will be in place during your tour, and this is where we need your help. We are implementing a Combination Intervention Approach, which entails action on the part of guides and guests alike in four areas: hand hygiene, respiratory hygiene, physical distancing and enhanced sanitation. Read more below about our specific protocols in each of these areas.
We thank you, in advance, for supporting these efforts.
