Silicon Bayou News Features Gondwana Ecotours

Silicon Bayou News, an online resource for businesses and startups based in Louisiana, has featured Gondwana Ecotours to highlight their global, sustainable business model. With headquarters in New Orleans, Gondwana’s web based travel business caters to clients worldwide. Author Julia Ballard writes that Gondwana’s passion is helping “historically underrepresented people and their environments, while providing a positive, meaningful, and relaxing experiences for travelers.”

With sustainability at the forefront, Gondwana takes adventure travelers to unique destinations. All of the trips, from Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Rwanda to seeing the Islands and Fjords of Norway (just to name a few!), have a focus on the natural world. Gondwana promotes sustainability on all of their trips by carbon-offsetting the flights, supporting local businesses and donating to non-profits at every destination. Trips are focused on discovering the history, culture, and natural wonders of each location, while giving back to the communities they visit.

A lifelong traveller, company founder Jared Sternberg has “either lived, worked or volunteered at most of their destinations and has developed relationships with the guides they use.” After studying environmental and human rights at Tulane University’s Law School, he started Gondwana Ecotours in 2013 with the intention of bringing awareness to historically unseen people and environments. Through ecotourism, he seeks to share his passion for travel and building community with the world.

Gondwana has trips scheduled for many exciting destinations in 2016. All hand-crafted trips are hosted by the Gondwana team, and include most meals, guided excursions and comfortable lodging. Imagine seeing the Great Migration in Tanzania, or visiting the historic archaeological site Machu Picchu in Peru. The most popular trip visits Alaska to see the Northern Lights, and still has openings for this winter! These once-in-a-lifetime trips will be a hit for even the most seasoned adventure traveller.

Silicon Bayou News writes, “Throughout each trip, Gondwana maintains an environmental and cultural focus while providing the vacation of a lifetime for guests.” Part of Gondwana’s mission is to create a global community and unite people from different countries, cultures and backgrounds. We aim to be responsible, eco-friendly and mindful when we travel, and love to share our sense of adventure!
