In collaboration with Cooler, we’ve footprinted the carbon use and emissions for each of our tours: what we eat, where we sleep, what we do, and our travel and transportation.
At the end of each tour, we report the number of guests on the tour and pay Cooler to purchase carbon pollution contracts from the open markets to neutralize our collective carbon footprint.

Our itineraries feature activities that operate sustainably, bring economic dollars to local infrastructure and communities, contribute to the conservation and preservation of natural areas, educate on the cultural identities and customs of local communities, and abide by Our Animal Welfare Policy.
We intentionally curate our itineraries with activities that highlight destinations’ nature, wildlife, and culture while maintaining our commitment to responsible and sustainable travel.
- Explore San Camilo Market, Arequipa’s oldest and most traditional public market. Experience local culture and learn about the unique ingredients used in Peruvian cuisine.
- Visit Museo Santuarios Andinos to learn about Mummy Juanita, a well-preserved Inca girl discovered atop Mount Ampato. This mummy offers insight into Incan culture, spiritual practices, and beliefs.
- Drive through the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve. We’ll continue through the highlands, encountering diverse wildlife like vicuñas, llamas, alpacas, Andean foxes, and flamingos, practicing our Animal Welfare Policy to ensure responsible viewing.
- Visit Colca Canyon and witness Andean Condors soaring over the canyon, observe their daily routine, and learn about their significance in Andean culture and mythology. We’ll also practice our Animal Welfare Policy here to ensure responsible viewing.
- Explore Taquile Island and meet Quechua-speaking locals, learn about their ancient customs and textile art, and enjoy a traditional lunch prepared by the islanders.
- Experience an Andean-Pipes show at Restaurant Wari. The live show highlights Bolivia’s rich cultural heritage and is paired with a traditional Bolivian dinner.
- Learn more about Bolivia’s historical mining culture at the Pulacayo Mine.
- Visit Colchani, a small village located at the edge of Bolivia’s salt flat. Learn about the traditional methods used by locals to harvest salt from the flat.

Every year we donate a portion of our revenues to carefully vetted and selected local nonprofits in the areas where we travel as another measurable practice of responsible travel.
