Mark Thompson

Mark grew up in Nebraska and left shortly after earning a degree in Business. He spent several years working and traveling seasonally throughout the western U.S., building a career in food service and hospitality. Eventually, he transitioned into guiding active travel experiences, leading hiking and biking trips both across the U.S. and internationally. His first visit to Alaska was to run a seasonal pizza restaurant, and he returned later to explore the waters of Southeast Alaska by boat. He’s always dreaming up new adventures to experience in the state and looks forward to sharing this wild, beautiful place with others.

In his free time, Mark enjoys spending time outdoors taking pictures, hiking, biking, skiing, camping and gardening.
