It points to Gondwana Ecotours’ ethos to leave a “smaller carbon footprint and less negative impacts on the local communities” to mitigate the negative impacts of travel. One of the ways we achieve this is through our partnership with Cooler, which makes guests’ travels 100% carbon neutral. By working with Cooler, we can footprint our carbon use and emissions for each of our tours and purchase carbon pollution contracts from tightly regulated pollution markets to neutralize our collective carbon footprint. This makes us “one of the few verifiable carbon-neutral travel companies”.

The Nomad Almanac also highlights our efforts to “bring money into the local economy” of every destination we visit. To do this, we carefully curate our itineraries to feature local businesses and family-owned and operated hotels and lodging. By doing so, we can directly support the communities we visit while also forging a closer connection and experience with the locals for our guests.
