Argentina is known for its world-class wines, and there is no better place to sample them than in Mendoza. This is a perfect place to soak up Argentinian wine, food (especially local BBQ called asado), dancing, and culture. Nearly two-thirds of all Argentinian wine is produced here! When you’re touring the wineries, you will want to ensure you have an expert guide with you, so that you can learn about the growing process and techniques of cultivation. When you sample asado, commonly referred to as Argentinian BBQ, it is important to remember that this is more than just a meal, it’s a cultural tradition.

You’ll learn about Argentinian culture, such as how the gaucho, a figure of a skilled horseman, is a folk symbol of this special country. Mendoza Wine Country is the first stop on our tour of Argentina.

Aconcagua

While you’re in this part of the world, it would be a shame to miss the opportunity to observe Aconcagua, the highest peak outside of Asia at an incredible 22,837 feet. As you ascend the nearby foothills, wildflowers flank the path and you are treated to spectacular views from the south face of Aconcagua.
