The Northern Lights Tour Itinerary
While the focus of our Northern Lights Adventure tour is on the Aurora Borealis, it’s not by any means the only thing that you’ll see or do. As the SocialMoms’ article describes, we have planned an exciting itinerary that will give you a uniquely Alaskan experience.
From day one you’ll be up and going with a tour of the city of Fairbanks and the surrounding historic gold mining regions. Afterward, we’ll head out to a cozy lodge a few miles away from the city. From there you’ll have the opportunity to hike or snowshoe through the woods and visit a local family and their pet reindeer. The reindeer love to play and will walk through birch forests with visitors. Feed them their favorite treat of lichens and they’ll stop to take photos with you!
At night, you’ll be scanning the skies for the Aurora, but during the day, you’ll have the opportunity to experience some authentic Alaskan native culture. We’ll take you to the Morris Thompson Cultural Center to learn about the traditions, art, and customs of the tribes that settled here. Afterward, you’ll take a soak in Chena Hot Springs and cap off your day sipping drinks at the ice sculpture museum in handmade glasses carved from ice. You’ll also get to go dog sledding through the forests and even learn the sport of curling from friendly locals. There are many different tours that promise you the Northern Lights, but we are the only ones that promise you Alaska!
The Lights of the Aurora Borealis
While your days will be filled with fun activities, your nights will be filled with the colors of the Aurora Borealis! Our travelers have over a 95% chance of seeing the Aurora during their trip. We stay far from the light pollution of the city of Fairbanks in a comfortable lodge that boasts one of the best Aurora viewing areas in all of Alaska. And if you’re worried about getting some rest after a long day of activities, you don’t need to be. While you sleep comfortably in the lodge, our local guides stay up at night looking for signs that the Aurora is about to begin. Once it starts, they’ll wake you up so that you don’t miss a thing.
So what do you get the man who has everything for Father’s Day? Not another tie or greeting card, but the trip of a lifetime! Help him cross off one of his bucket list items and take a journey to a place that is both wild and beautiful. But don’t take our word for it, see what others have to say about their Northern Lights Adventure.
